Carrousel of the Nations organizers gave a sneak peek Tuesday at what to expect later this month during the annual festival, including music, food, and four new villages in Leamington.
“Our hope is that visitors experience as many new traditions and immerse themselves in as many new cultures as possible”, said Carrousel of the Nations co-chair Allison Johnson. “Families and friends can take in three or four villages together and really get a sense of the diversity of our area. We want that tradition to keep growing as well — the idea of ‘carrouseling.’”
The cultural festival, showcasing 20 communities, will take place June 14 to 16 and June 21 to 23. Organizers held a media conference on Tuesday featuring displays and demonstrations from the villages.
Carrousel of the Nations, Windsor’s longest-running festival and the only one of its kind in the region, celebrates the diversity of Essex County by exposing people to an array of cultures and traditions.
